Argos Minimap

Empire Campaign - mission 1 (military)
Start date: February 10 BC
Map size: Medium (384x384)
Region: Southern Europe

Some years ago, a Roman General invaded the Parthian lands beyond Syria. The Parthians took exception to this and proceeded to kill the General and annihilate his legions in what is perhaps the worst defeat Rome has ever experienced. Emboldened by their victory, the Parthians now appear to be probing into the Empire to see if they can expand into Macedonia and Achaea.

Obviously, Caesar does not find this acceptable. He considers the Mediterranean to be his Sea, and desires the Parthians to be discouraged from their course. As the governor of Argos in Achaea, Caesar expects you to fend off the Parthians in addition to building a moderate city. Put the invaders on the run and drive them from the Empire.

Achaean marble is in high demand; trading it should prove to be profitable. However, the quarries and mines of Argos are somewhat exposed and vulnerable to enemy raids. A balance of industrial and military might should ensure a prosperous and enduring city.
