Ephesus Minimap

Empire Campaign - mission 5 (economic)
Start date: February 125 AD
Map size: Large (512x512)
Region: Asia

While once the area boasted a thriving culture of its own, there is little evidence of it remaining in the province of Asia. Governor, your task is to bring civilization and culture back to these people, for they are now citizens of the Empire and Rome requires that certain standards be met.

The gods, the arts, education, and sanitation... all these things you will bring to Ephesus. Create a massive city that is paramount in culture. Streets lined with temples, bathhouses, villas, and more will be commonplace. And your shipments of fine marble will allow Rome to share the splendor of your city.

Unfortunately nothing draws raiders like a prosperous city, and you will certainly need to be prepared for the occasional band of brigands. Your focus should remain on the standard of living of your citizens, however. Trade with other lands will help to sate their burgeoning appetite. Naturally, as your city grows you must ensure that your marble shipments to Rome stay on track. Caesar has many plans for statues of his wife, of his favorite horse, of his mistress, and of course, of Caesar.
