This scenario uses a slightly modified map of Cathago. All the arable land has been salted (removed) and more of the coastline has been smoothed out to allow for more trade ports to be placed.
Marble has been added to the map. Marble and sand are your only natural resources. You will have to import all of your food and other resources while exporting finished goods and salt across the changed empire map. There are 16 trade routes, one of which starts open.
There is a slightly tongue-in-cheek story in the opening of the scenario, as well as in the requests Caesar makes of you. There are no invasions in the scenario, but most of your positive favor is going to come from military requests.
There are only 4 luxury goods available, which will force you to have more villas to reach the prosperity. The scenario is designed to be completable by the start of the 13th year after the penultimate military request. (Favor will be your limiting factor up until this point).
Starting after that point, I included 4 repeating resource requests from Caesar in order to allow people who failed the main story of the scenario to complete the map still.
In addition, during my testing playthroughs I used up about 85% of the map and I had 45 villas running off the same coliseum. As such, I added another empire site that grants a 5th luxury resource.
Essentially there are 3 difficulties to the scenario.
Hard - Complete by March of the 13th year.
Normal - Complete without opening the easy trade route but after deadline.
Easy - Complete using the 17th trade route.
Update Sept 25th, 2022
Fixed some grammar and typos in some of the messages in the .xml
Moved the "easier completion" trade site to the left some so that the name doesn't clip the UI on the empire map.
Also lowered the open trade route cost from 100,000 denarii to 10,000 denarii because it is supposed to be easier. (Also a typo basically).
Two requests now properly give favor if you succeed rather than taking it away if you fail. They are requests!
Removed two specs of unbuildable terrain that were not intended. |

Roman legions turn up in 2 years and kick me out. I think somethings not right. |

There is nothing in the scripting that would cause Rome to show up outside of normal gameplay. If your favor drops below 20, they will show up. Only two ways for that to happen: prolonged debt or if you fail a demand.
My guess, based on what you wrote, is that you are not completing the demand against 1 carthaginian infantry that appears in week 116. (May of the 3rd year) |

I did it, but had an issue with the demandes : Did sent my army on one demand ( something like 6 forts ), won the fight, but then my army never came back :( It was really annoying to end the scenario ! (So I ended with everything, but favor)
Somehow, the scenario is really cool ! The expansion in trading, and in the same time army, and upgrade city, is quite hard, but doable ! :)
Thanks for this !
I will give it another try, and this time with favor !! :D
If you have others like this, please let us test it ! :)[Edited on 11/01/22 @ 04:38 PM]

A very good trading level although some might find it a tough one as I did.
With so many trading stations it gives you many choices.
The main difficulty I think is losing alot of favor is quite easy, but gaining it back is a steep hill to climb. So for this reason it loses a point. |

I think it is impossible to finish it by March of the 13th year. Maybe if the legions weren't disappeaaring for good. They never come back, even after a win. |

Tried again and I did it in 11 years and 1 month, so it is possible ;) |

Additional Comments:
Awsome scenario, thank you. Economy is really well balanced and fun to play with. After few tries I finished it in 12 years, had 100 favor in year 6 no favor lost, all requirments and gifting rome. But had no villas yet. So bottom line of this scenario is in $$ managment i guess.
Best scenario so far, thanks[Edited on 08/25/23 @ 07:54 AM]
